Appledore Quays lie on the western bank of the River Torridge, North Devon. The Port includes wharfs and docks, marine sand and gravel wharfs, Appledore Fishdock and boat building and repair facilities. Ilfracombe Port, North Devon, can be accessed for most of the tide and has direct access to deep water immediately outside the harbour entrance. The Port is primarily Leisure based with a small but active fishing fleet. Further development could provide deep water moorings.

North Devon’s Yelland Quay with a large jetty with crane, docks and nearby Maritime Employment Campus and Marine Energy Park, can take large vessels.

Exeter Skypark will be the South West’s most significant business park development, offering office, industrial and distribution space with hotel and local facilities in a landscaped environment of more than 100 acres.

Exeter Science Park Centre, opened in 2015, offers readymade investment solutions to science and technology based companies. The whole site, near the Airport and M5 junction, is expected to offer nearly 93,000 m2 of opportunities, from serviced offices to cutting-edge bespoke facilities. It is the home of technology company Blur Group’s global headquarters and is due to be the location of the UK Met Office’s supercomputer and collaboration centre focused around Big Data.

Exeter Innovation Centre attracts knowledge-based organisations undertaking research and development, and is located within Exeter University. The University is in the top 200 in the world and part of the Russell Group of leading UK universities.
